Welcome to my website
JANUARY 2026 FIRST OF THE YEAR NEWSLETTER.
My non-fiction memoir is out NOW in ebook form.
Holy Hell Diabolical Delights: Twisted Tales of Faith and Fear
This is a raw, insider exposé of modern church dysfunction, original in its memoir format that reads like a thriller with "twisted tales" of deceit. It's compelling due to its authenticity (real names, events, and documents), timely relevance to global church abuse scandals (e.g., parallels to Dilworth School in NZ), and inspirational call for a "new Martin Luther" to reform the Anglican Church. The author's background as a seasoned writer adds literary polish, making it accessible yet profound for readers questioning institutional faith.
The story's originality lies in its unflinching portrayal of "everyday evil" in a small-town parish, blending personal memoir with a broader critique of religious bureaucracy, appealing to those disillusioned with organized religion while offering hope through the author's persistence.
ARC Readers' comments:
'This is the book which finally answered the questions I wanted to ask. Whether you're defending the Anglican faith or attacking it, you need to read this. The truth doesn't care about your religious position. I didn't want to believe the amount of corruption, but this book made it impossible not to.'
2. 'I'm outraged. The time for silence is over.'
3.' Wow! Church scandals! Clergy abuse. Institutional corruption. Cover-ups and betrayal! No, these aren't just sensational headlines—they're documented realities which are affecting real people in real congregations. Dunedin diocese and St Luke's church are not isolated incidents. They're case studies in what happens when supposedly good people, spiritual leaders, choose comfortable denial over uncomfortable truth.'
ALSO hurray it's newsletter time.
JANUARY NEWS LETTER https://preview.mailerlite.com/x4h2y9d7l6
Happy New Year to you all! May it be a great improvement on last year for everyone of us.
Welcoming the new year is so dull in New Zealand unless you have people of Scottish origin living near by. In Japan every new year has great significance, both spiritually and traditionally. The photo above shows a special, religious ceremony we were privileged to be allowed to watch. And yes, the priests do set fire to the carefully arranged bonfire whilst the senior priest is standing on it. And he may not jump off until the paper bundle he holds has opened and lifted into the air by the heat of the flames. Then he does jump! The special, blessed paper sheet is tethered by each corner to poles around the fire. It billows up and there is a hush as everyone waits for it float free before it burns up. If it does then everyone rushes to grab a piece to take home. It's all about luck for the new year and burning away all the bad of the last year and warning off the evil gods and spirits. Finally, after another blessing ceremony, everyone walks over the embers to ensure good health and warn off physical evil for the new year. It is a profound spiritual experience even for us heathen non-shinto believers.
And my new book, just released, is a plea for the same thing in my Anglican church. Holy Hell Diabolical Delights: Twisted Tales of Faith and Fear is a plea to the authorities of the Anglican church, both world wide and in New Zealand, to take a grip, and remember what the Anglican church is meant to be, remember their ordination vows, and remember their duties and sort out the corruption and misbehaviour as demonstrated in my local church.
For the next week my book is free at amazon.com. I normally don't push sales of my books in my newsletters but this is not fiction. Amazon hides non-commercial, non-fiction from easy searches. Their algorithms have to be taught to find the book. I would love it if you could spend five minutes going into Amazon, into Books and searching for the book using these key words: church & state scandal church & state Anglican. If the book does not show up in your search please add the words Holy Hell – like this -church & state scandal church & state Anglican Holy Hell. The book is meant to be free. It would be a great kindness if you could click and download a copy You don't have to read it unless you like true crime and want to see how and why I ended up with a serious heart condition and am waiting for a major operation.
I am arguing with Amazon but it still shows 99 cents a copy. I would be happy to pay you back via PayPal or with a free copy of one of my other books if you would click through and 'buy'! It is important as, with Amazon's new specifications, it's the clicks and downloads in the first few days of a book's release which teach the algorithms that the book exists. Otherwise the book is dumped and only found if the correct title is searched. I hate algorithms!
Loads of free books again. As always watch the deadlines. There are 2 January 11th and several January 16th ones.
